The technology is in place for us to do so. Accordingly, I would support building codes requiring builders to incorporate solar and other energy-efficient principles into their designs. I will also initiate a program to encourage homeowners to place rain barrels at the end of their downspouts, and to build rain gardens, in order to reduce pollutants from storm-water run-off.
