I am Eric Lipsetts, the Democratic candidate for County Council, District 7.

I am in favor of smart development, oppose the Target in Wayson’s Corner and the Wal-Mart in Crofton, and have a plan to stop both of those developments.

I am opposed to any increases in taxes, and will demand that the money the County takes from its citizens be spent wisely. I support the 13th high school for Crofton, but I also support getting parents involved in their children’s educations; without that involvement, no matter how much money we invest in our schools, I think it unlikely we will get the results we are paying for. I support fully funding our police and fire departments, and have taken a pledge that if it is ever shown that we do not have the money to fully fund our police and fire departments, I will not take a salary, and direct that the money which would be used to pay me go to hiring police and firefighters.

I do not pretend to have all of the answers to all of the issues which we confront.
